AAF-Little Rock News

Arkansas Advertising Federation is now AAF-Little Rock

Comprised of 220 clubs and 15 Districts across the , representing 40,000 people, the AAF is a force to be reckoned with. But when members visited another market or moved to another market, it was hard to find the local club. Few had similar naming conventions. In addition, when the district or national organization would lobby on the industry’s behalf, they found that legislators doubted their claims of 40,000 members in 220 clubs–because they were not familiar with the AAF club in their hometown.

Ad Club?  Yes.

Ad Fed?  Yes.

Ad League?  Yes.

Ad Society?  Yes.

AAF?  Don’t think so…

At the request of the membership, in 2007, the American Advertising Federation began a new initiative: Rebrand AAF affiliates across the United States with a uniform naming convention, making it easier for members to find the local clubs and others to see the scope of the organization.

Your board has pondered this decision for two years, weighing the pros and cons of a name change. It certainly was not a decision we took lightly. In the end, however, we felt that both the club and the local advertising community would be best served by changing our name. So welcome to the new AAF-Little Rock!

2009 Lifetime Achievement Award Recipient

This prestigious award was given to someone who has been a steady supporter of our advertising community and club. He is one man with many different voices that can be heard all across the country. AAF-Little Rock was proud to award Charlie Scarborough the 2009 Lifetime Achievement Award. The best part of the presentation of this award was that he had NO clue he was the recipient until he saw his old business card on the screen. Charlie said, "Totally surprised, I was lost for words." Congratulations Charlie and thanks for all you have done (by the way, can you be a sponsor of the conference?)!
